Your Old Droog is back with the new album, TIME. As the title indicates, the project is the culmination of years of work. "This is basically my debut album," Droog explains. "Some of this material was recorded back in 2017, but I suppose the universe felt it would make more sense if it was released at another point in the future. Hence the name, TIME." It features appearances by MF DOOM, Aesop Rock, Mick Jenkins, Elzhi, Blu, and Wiki. With production by Quelle Chris, 88 Keys, Edan, Mono En Stereo, and more, TIME was a surprise release on digital outlets, and is now available on vinyl for the first time.
Cormega (Mega) brings you a secret project entirely produced by STREETRUNNER with Co-Production by Tariq Azzouz. Mega describes this as art culture and vibes. This project has only one feature by Havoc of Mobb Deep on the song “Live Your Best Life”. All Instrumentals are also featured on this release. Lyrics to all the songs are printed on the back of the vinyl record jacket and in CD and Cassette artwork. This is Cormega’s first solo release since his 2014 Large Professor produced “Mega Philosophy”.
While Terrace Martin & Robert Glasper were on tour together for the R&R project, both artists questioned one-another as to how they could take their music to another place while working side by side to create a new form of contemporary Jazz that would resonate with fans of older and newer forms of black music. Soon after, they approached 9th Wonder to bring his production aesthetic to the mix, adding a harder more hiphop/DJ element to the music. Bringing longtime friend and collaborator Kamasi Washington into the fold would further add a level of technical excellence and musicianship that would solidify the four-artist partnership... culminating in 'Dinner Party', an incredible collaborative work
Originally released in ‘06/’07 as the appetizer to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, The Vatican Mixtape series consists of a vast collection of unreleased tracks, Wu & solo classics (“Shame On A Ni**a”, “Diesel”, “Ghetto Boy”, & “Yae-Yo”), as well as some of Rae’s best guest work through the years (“The Heist”, “Brown Paper Bag”, & “Bump Bump”).Volume 1 features verses from Busta Rhymes, Roc Marciano, Nas, & several Wu-Tang brethren including RZA, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, & Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Special guest production contributed by Large Professor, Pete Rock, Madlib & Scram Jones.
