Wax Museum Records has been a Melbourne institution for seventeen years. Across a record store, label and events they have represented the city’s soulful underground; a pillar of the local music community and trusted beat makers.
The boutique shop has been at the forefront of the modern music trends from jazz and soul through to hip-hop, beats and club culture, stocking a wide range of new and lost treasures. The Wax Museum team aim to keep providing Melbourne, Australia and the world with the finest music in their field of specialty, whilst providing a voice for local artists and pushing their mantra ‘It’s All About The Beats!’ through their unique events.
With some of Melbourne’s most infamous music figures behind the counter, Wax Museum Records continue to push the scene forward, nurturing our local creative talent, and acting as a centre point for the community.
In April 2022 after 16 years, we moved from our original store in the iconic Campbell Arcade location to our new home in the basement of 250 Flinders St - (less than 50m from the old location)

In January 2023, we have partnered with Selina to open new retail space in their St Kilda location. With predominantly new release titles at the moment covering jazz, electronic, world, dub & reggae, hip-hop and rock from local to abroad. Grab a falafel and a drink and go for a dig!
