This is a a high octane hi energy tribute to jungle, footwork and bass beats, with a BPM that rarely drops below 150BPM. It's a compilation mix curated for fabric's 'presents' series.

Studded with names key to the genres – many personal friends of SHERELLE’s - it’s a creation that respects both the birth of the jungle scene as well as its current locality. With inclusions like the late legend *DJ Rashad and former footwork dancer RP Boo (who is credited with making the first tracks that fall within the footwork canon), as well the holy trio of current uber cool US producers - New York’s AceMo and Kush Jones, the former with the scuffed techno ‘Perpetrator’ and Kush Jones’ breaks-based ‘Fuck Off’, and Miami-based duo INVT who deliver the bass driven ‘SUPER GALACTIC’, this release goes off the edge. Frequent collaborators and fellow Londoners Tim Reaper and Worldwide Epidemic furnish cuts of their own, with Paul Pryor's label Time Tunnel supplying hot new productions reminiscent of the glory days of the 90's UK hardcore & jungle rave scene.

As well as fathering established jungle label Hooversound alongside artist NAINA, 2021 saw her launching new label Beautiful, a platform for supporting black and LGBTQI+ artists. Driven and vocal, a proudly gay and black artist, SHERELLE is a major force of the future.

long overdue reissue with rock city pioneer Billy Jones.. here's what he had to say about his crew....in the early 80's Billy Jones was the lead guitarist for an outstanding group of touring musicians who called themselves 'The Incredible Rock City Band'. They performed on military installations all over the United States for the U.S. Dept. of MWR for more than ten years during the 80's and 90's. ...I'm sure that there are many veterans out there who remember seeing this band at NCO and Officer's clubs back in the day.
Samy Ponsar aka War has been a firm favourite and valued member of the Utopia family, so it was only a matter of time until his first solo body of work for them would surface. It also happens to be the first dubstep / 140 bpm offering from the label, completely taking things away from the drum & bass things for a beat. An ice-cold body of work showcases Sam's impressive and continuously growing dexterity both in the idea and engineering spheres alike. The EP is laden with his well-known style and distinctive approach to writing music. As the artist harnesses room-shaking low end frequencies and bone breaking beats, we're invited on a trip filled with jazz and noir soundscapes between 110 and 140 bpm, served on a solid White 10” with full colour sleeve designed by War himself.
For his new LP, John Carroll Kirby “wanted to do something more electronic than previous albums.” He invited Canadian artist Yu Su to join him on production duties for Dance Ancestral, an album which loosely follows the narrative of a day unfolding. As the day mirrors the course of a life, so the album reflects on patterns and routines – what Kirby calls “the innate steps we take in life. When I say dance, I don’t mean an actual dance, I mean a choreography where we’re repeating these things that people have repeated forever.” For inspiration, he looked to an array of ideas and philosophies, including paganism, Mayan religion, bacchanalia, pseudoscience and New Age philosophy. The opening track and first single “Dawn of New Day,” featuring ambient pioneer Laraaji, pictures the first hours of morning. “I imagine Laraaji waking up feeling blessed and inspired by the sun,” says Kirby. “The lyric is very simple – “Dawn of a new day / morning light, morning light” – but there’s not a lot of people who could sing that sincerely and not come across a little cringe. Laraaji is the man for the job and I was flattered and honored he was willing to be a part of it.”
