"Atrocity Exhibition" is the latest highlight in a long series of highlights: Over the last few years Danny Brown has worked with many high profile artists such as Purity Ring, Rustie, Schoolboy Q, E-40 or Ghostaface Killah

For the posse track "Detroit vs. Everybody" he teamed up with Eminem, Dej Loaf, Royce da 5'9", Big Sean and Trick Trick, and he also lent his voice to the legendary The Avalanches for their comeback album this year. Since he doesn't mince his words on 'Atrocity Exhibition' and in a way distils the high-proof essence of his creative approach, Danny has also made sure that the choice of guests is exactly right: Kelela contributes her snake-like vocals in the case of the insanely sinister 'From The Ground', B-Real from Cypress Hill, an old hemp specialist, is responsible for the deeply relaxed hook of 'Get Hi', and with Earl Sweatshirt, Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul, three young high-carat musicians for the ominously dazzling 'Really Doe', who he considers to be the best rappers currently available, step up to the microphone.

Linkwood and Other Lands are well known from their various outings on Firecracker, Night Theatre, The Nuclear Family, Rush Hour, Dekmantel, AOTN and many other labels, both talented musicians and fierce producers. The plan was simple, drop them into the mostly finished Athens of the North studio and cross the streams. The results are nothing short of spectacular but putting them into words or genres on paper is somewhat of a challenge. Folding modular textures, post-punk, Electro, House and Techno even ending in some lush Balearic business, they have moulded their years of experience and translated it into something new. What strikes me when listening to the LP is both their voices have come through in this production. Other Lands guitar work and Vocal and Linkwood deep sense of Rhythm and structure. The recording of this LP was just pre-covid which seems strange as it fits now so well. Like a dream of what it would be like to be out In the city night in all its different factions.
Theme To An Ending - Catchy and slick, made for the summer, this bouncey number has all the elements of a beautiful house cut. Big horns and drums give this one a certainty in those selectors looking for the freshness.Lay The Love Down - Slick synths, bouncy bassline with them punchy drums to match. Lay The Love Down drops perfectly into those disco house sets. A perflect blend of how old school meets the new school.Nobody Else - Flippin samples in only the way Jerk boy know how, this deep and subtle groover gives you that edge when it comes to digging for the deep house joints.
