Inimitable groove sorcery from Theo Parrish on his first album in six years, weaving proper deep house magic in some of his strongest material for a while. Judging by ‘Wuddaji’ it sounds like Theo has spent his time away slipping ever deeper into his own sound. He returns at a time when jazz and broken beat styles are getting some cyclical shine and the scene could hardly be better prepped for Theo’s super earthy return, working out some of his baddest, wildest drum programming chops alongside soul smackers such as the preceding single ‘This Is For You’ with its killer Maurissa Rose vocal, and the reticulated jazz workout ‘Wuddaji’.

DJ Junk is ironically named because all of the joints on this new 12" disco edit label are superb. Each one adds a house feel to some classic tunes from days gone by. 'Right In The Socket' kicks off with leggy drums and slapping hits next to jumbled toms and congas. It's a real cosmic crowd pleaser. 'Ready Get Down' then ups the ante with some taught and tight drum kicks overlaid with noodling guitar funk and big vocals. On the flipside, things get deeper with 'What I Got Is What You Need' which is a soul drenched stomper with heartfelt feel coos and last of all comes the more spaced out and spacious 'If You Want Me' which builds in teasing layers of well-filtered funk.

Encompassing all his influences from Jazz, R&B to Techno and Ambient these lush tracks with a feel that no one else expresses quite like Mr. Fingers. Right from the start with “Around the Sun” the ten track album pulls you in with these lush produced tracks and effortlessly captivates you with the always infectious grooves and perfectly spaced arrangements.
